Scaling impact beyond the fence: The Hub unites Data Center Leaders at Datacloud Global Congress
DataCloud Global Congress brings together the companies shaping the future of digital infrastructure, energy systems, and AI deployment. As the industry scales to meet growing infrastructure demand, increasing focus is being placed not only on technologies inside the data center, but also on how data centers integrate with wider energy systems, communities, and infrastructure planning.
These themes will be central to the Net Zero Innovation Hub for Data Centers’ presence at this year’s event in Cannes, where the Hub will bring together partners and industry stakeholders to advance discussions around scalable net zero infrastructure and innovation both inside and beyond the data center fence.
Executive Workshop to Shape the Future of Digital Infrastructure
As part of its presence at DataCloud Global Congress, the Hub will host a 90-minute, invite-only executive workshop bringing together senior leaders from across the digital infrastructure ecosystem. The session will bring together representatives from companies including Google, Microsoft, Data4, Danfoss, Phinergy, Engie, Innio Jenbacher, alongside leading industry experts including Peter Gross.
Centered around the theme “Scaling Innovation Beyond the Fence,” the workshop will explore how the industry can accelerate the transition toward scalable net zero infrastructure, both inside the data center through new approaches to power, cooling, and backup systems, and outside the fence through deeper integration with energy systems, heat reuse, and local communities.
“The industry is facing increasingly complex infrastructure challenges that no company can solve alone,” said Gross. “I’m looking forward to joining the discussions in Cannes around how collaboration can help accelerate the next generation of digital infrastructure.”
“Innovation cannot happen in isolation,” said Alberto Ravagni, CEO at Net Zero Innovation Hub. “The future of digital infrastructure depends not only on what happens inside the data center, but also on how data centers interact with wider energy systems and communities. Through the Hub, we are bringing industry stakeholders together to move beyond discussion and accelerate the testing and validation of new solutions.”

Industry Collaboration Around Energy, Resilience, and AI
The Hub will also have a presence together with Phinergy during the event. Through a strategic collaboration, the Hub and Phinergy are working to validate Phinergy’s Aluminum-Air Generator (AAG) technology as a long-duration, low-emission backup power solution for future cloud and AI data center infrastructure.
“The transition toward zero-emission and resilient data center infrastructure requires the industry to explore new approaches to long-duration backup power,” said Emmanuel Levy. “Our collaboration with the Hub creates an important framework for validating aluminum-air technology together with leading industry stakeholders.”
Within the Hub, industry leaders jointly define requirements and evaluate emerging technologies under real-world conditions. Aluminum-air technology is one of several pathways being explored to support resilient, low-emission energy solutions for next-generation data centers.
Hub Partners and Board Members Gather in Cannes
Several members of the Hub’s Board and partner organizations will participate in meetings and strategic discussions in Cannes, engaging with industry leaders, policymakers, investors, and technology providers on the future of sustainable digital infrastructure.
